FAM ("we", "our", "us") operates the FAM mobile application and associated web services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app. By using FAM, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. Authentication is handled securely through our authentication provider (Clerk).

Profile Information: You may optionally provide a profile photo, bio, and other details to personalise your account.

User Content: We store content you create within spaces, including lists, sticky notes, memories (photos and captions), events, and messages.

Photos and Media: When you upload photos for your profile, spaces, or memories, we store these images on our secure servers. We only access your device's photo library when you explicitly choose to upload an image.

Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, and push notification tokens to deliver notifications and ensure app compatibility.

Subscription Information: If you subscribe to FAM Pro, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) via RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment card details. We receive subscription status information to manage your access to Pro features.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the FAM app
  • Create and manage your account
  • Sync your spaces, lists, memories, and other content across devices
  • Send push notifications for space activity (if enabled)
  • Process and manage your subscription status
  • Respond to your requests and provide customer support
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Within Spaces: Content you share in a space is visible to all members of that space. Only people you invite can access your spaces.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

We may share limited data with the following service providers who help us operate the app:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management
  • RevenueCat — subscription management
  • DigitalOcean — image and file storage
  • Vercel — web hosting and API infrastructure

We may also disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FAM, our users, or the public.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. We use industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction of your personal information.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

Content shared in spaces may persist for other space members even after your account is deleted.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and data
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format
  • Opt-out — disable push notifications in your device settings

8. Children's Privacy

FAM is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
